The ACT Brumbies have received some welcomed news with Test playmaker Christian Lealiifano agreeing to a new two-year extension.

The new two-year deal will see him remain in Canberra until the end of the 2018 Super Rugby season.

It's understood Lealiifano rejected offers from European clubs to remain at the franchise.

The 28-year-old has played 101 Super Rugby games for the Brumbies since making his debut in 2007 and is the club's second highest point scorer (635) behind Stirling Mortlock.
