The Hurricanes and the All Blacks' 2016 season have been rocked with outside back Nehe Milner-Skudder ruled out for the remainder of the Super Rugby season with a dislocated shoulder.

Milner-Skudder injured his shoulder in Friday night's win over the Blues, with scans later revealing that he will require surgery, ruling him out of action for the rest of the season.

The former NRL player, who was named World Rugby breakthrough player of the year in 2015, will miss the All Blacks' Test series against Wales in June and is in doubt for both the Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup.

“Losing Nehe is a blow and obviously disappointing for him, but we're really lucky in that we have a lot of depth in the outside backs and when you can bring a 53-Test All Black like Cory Jane into the team you aren't going too bad,” Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd said.
