San Antonio Spurs def. Utah Jazz 110-97

It was a clash of the Australians in the NBA today, with Patty Mills and the San Antonio Spurs hosting Joe Ingles and Dante Exum from Utah Jazz.

Both teams have had a rocky start to the season, entering the game 12-14 and 13-13 respectively. San Antonio came in to the clash after a rallying 133-120 victory over the Lakers on Saturday, following a two-game losing streak representative of their season as a whole.

The Jazz also entered with perhaps their best momentum of the season, having won their past two games and four out of their last five overall.

It was ultimately the Spurs who emerged victorious, leading the entire game and defending their position well to secure a 110-97 home win. Rudy Gay made the difference for the  Spurs, finishing with 23 points, two assists and a staggering 15 rebounds.

Patty Mills scored eight points from 27:33 of game time, with two assists, two rebounds and a 33% field goal conversion rate. He wasn't the star of the show but was a presence on the court as always, showing his worth late in the first with a crazy fadeaway jumper.

Ingles was likewise reliable for Utah, finishing with six assists, five points and five rebounds from 28:16, while Exum took the field for only two minutes and wasn't inspiring.

Toronto Raptors def. by Milwaukee Bucks 99-104

Thon Maker has been part of a strong Bucks outfit this season, with Milwaukee sitting comfortably at second position in the Eastern Conference 17-8.

They added another notch to their belt today by beating top of the table Toronto Raptors, in a showdown which saw the Bucks come out on top 104-99, in no small part due to the Herculean efforts of Giannis Antetokounmpo who finished with 19 points, 19 rebounds and six assists.

Maker played a valuable eight minutes off the bench, contributing five points and two rebounds.Â
