Danish import Morten Nordstrand will remain in the A-League for at least another season, after signing a one-year contract extension with the Newcastle Jets.

The former Denmark international has scored four goals in eight matches since arriving at the Jets in January.

“I have really enjoyed my time since I arrived in Newcastle,” Nordstrand said.

“Everybody at the club has been really kind and friendly, and they helped me settle in fast so I could show my qualities on the pitch.

“I am really happy to have found a club that appreciates me both as a player and a person, and am grateful that the Jets gave me the opportunity to come and play in Australia.

“That is why I am really happy to extend my time at the club, and this time I look forward to being here from the start of the season and doing a whole preseason.

“I came directly from holiday and had two training sessions before my first game, so I am excited to get the entire pre-season with the team."

The Jets finished eighth this season, managing just eight wins for from 27 matches.
