Dwight Howard has had recent experience in playing with LeBron James as apart of the Lakers' 2020 championship, before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year deal this off-season.

The veteran centre has also had some promising words for young star Ben Simmons, who Howard visions as a "young LeBron".

“Ben Simmons is a young LeBron ... I love the way he plays,” Howard said.

“I love how unselfish he is, and how mean he can be to other teams, and that's important.

“When you have your point guard coming down, dunking on people, flexing, getting big rebounds, talking trash, doing all those things, it drives you to want to be better.

“He has an opportunity to be one of the greatest to ever play the game, and I'm glad I have the opportunity to actually give him some things that can help him along the way.”

Philadelphia is building a team that looks set to be a genuine title contender after signing Howard and trading for Seth Curry to build on the team's outside shooting, while also being able to retain the likes of young stars Simmons and Joel Embiid.

Seth Curry is a career 44% shooter from three, and says he is looking forward to teaming up with Simmons and Embiid and believes he is the perfect compliment player for the star duo.

“They just go in the paint and they are willing passers, they're unselfish, so a guy like myself can complement those guys really well as far as spreading the floor." Curry said.

“I feel like me and him (Simmons) are a perfect match in the sense that he's a bigger ball-handler who can make plays and defend multiple positions.”
