Brumbies winger Joe Tomane will miss the next six to eight weeks with a knee injury.

Tomane sustained the injury with just four minutes to go in the Brumbies' loss to the Crusaders on Sunday, with later scans revealing medial ligament damage to his right knee.

It is a huge blow for the Brumbies, with Tomane currently the club's leading try scorer for 2016, with six tries.

The Brumbies take on the Highlanders away from home on Saturday night.
